FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is MTur Ordinance No. 28/2025?
Ordinance MTur No. 28/2025 is a regulation issued by the Ministry of Tourism that sets out the procedures for guest check-in, stay and check-out at lodging establishments. Its aim is to ensure transparency, comfort and health and safety throughout the stay.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
In exercising the discretion granted by the Ordinance, the following check-in and check-out times have been set for guests at all hotels in the group:
- Check-in: 2 p.m.
- Check-out: 12 p.m.
Does the daily rate cover 24 hours of accommodation?
Yes. Each stay is for 24 hours, counted from the previously set and stated check-in time.
Within this period, up to 3 hours may be allocated to cleaning, tidying and preparing the accommodation unit, at no additional cost to the guest; this does not extend the length of stay.
Why doesn’t the daily rate period start from the time the guest actually checks in?
Because accommodations are arranged according to standardized check-in and check-out times, set in advance to allow us to schedule housekeeping and maintenance and prepare rooms for incoming guests.
For this reason, the Ordinance requires lodging establishments to set the check-in time in advance. This marks the start of the stay, regardless of the guest's actual arrival time.
Late check-in is at the guest’s discretion and does not entitle them to an extension of the check-out time, helping ensure operational predictability and appropriate cleaning standards.
Can I skip housekeeping to extend my stay?
Yes. During their stay, guests may opt out of room cleaning and tidying if they wish.
However, between stays (that is, when one guest checks out and another checks in), the hotel is required to thoroughly clean the accommodations as an essential health and safety measure, ensuring suitable conditions for all guests.
Can I check in early or check out late?
Early check-in before 2 p.m. and late check-out after 12 p.m. are subject to availability. If available, an additional charge may apply and will always be communicated to guests in advance.
How can I find out about hotel hours and services?
Information about check-in and check-out times and housekeeping services is provided to guests through the hotel’s communication channels, such as the booking process, informational materials, and front desk assistance, as applicable, to ensure clarity and a comfortable stay.
